What is ZashPay?

ZashPay lets you send money to or receive money from anyone in the United States via e-mail or text message.

  • Fees. You are charged a $0.50 fee when you send money via ZashPay. Enrollment in Bill Payer is required when using a Summit Credit Union account to send or receive money, but ZashPay users with no regular Bill Payer payees are not charged a monthly Bill Payer fee. Standard Bill Payer is free when you pay at least one bill per month (ZashPay payments do not count toward the number of bills paid.) There are no fees for receiving money via ZashPay.

  • Changed your e-mail address recently? Bought a new mobile phone with a new number? No problem! You can change your e-mail address or mobile phone number in Service Setup.

How does ZashPay work?

To send money to a person, enter her e-mail address or mobile number and the amount you want to send. Or if you've sent her money previously, just select her name from your send list and enter an amount.

If the person you're sending money to is not registered with ZashPay, she will receive an e-mail or text inviting her to use the service at ZashPay.com and to claim the money. If your recipient's financial institution offers ZashPay services directly, she may be redirected from ZashPay.com to her financial to claim the money. To register at ZashPay.com, your recipient will be asked to provide account information and identification information, such as date of birth and Social Security number. Summit users do not have to register and can use ZashPay inside Bill Payer immediately.

Send Money

Use ZashPay to send money to friends, coworkers, associations, or anyone you owe. You only need the person's name and e-mail address or mobile phone number. You can even include a message with your payment such as, "Thanks for the concert tickets!"

You are charged a $0.50 fee for each payment, and there is a limit on how much money you can send in each payment. The charge and payment limit are listed near the Amount field when sending money.

Sending Money

When you send money to someone, she receives an e-mail or text message with the amount and a link to receive the money. If the person is new to ZashPay, she also receives an invitation to sign up for the service.

To send money:

  1. Click Pay People. If this is your first time using ZashPay, read the welcome message and click Continue.
  2. In the Send Money section of the page, select the person you want to send money to.
    • If you've sent money to this person before, select the person from your list. His personal information is entered into the form for you.
    • If you are sending money to a person for the first time, enter his information in the form. (This person will be in your list the next time you send him money.)
  3. Enter the amount you want to send. Note the fee that will be charged for sending this payment, as well as the maximum amount you are allowed to send.
  4. The Pay From field lists the payment account the money will be pulled from. By default, your preferred payment account is selected, but you can select any account that has check-writing privileges. To make the selected account your default selection, select Make Preferred Account.
  5. Include a message if needed. For example, "Thanks for the tickets" or "Here's my half of the dinner bill from last night."
  6. Click Preview Payment.
  7. Review the payment details and click Send Money. A message (either e-mail or text message) is sent to the person telling him he has money. If the person does not already have a ZashPay account, he is sent an invitation to sign up for the service.

Receive Money

Claiming Money as a New User-- If this is your first time getting money with ZashPay, you received an invitation (e-mail or text message) to sign up for the service. The invitation includes the amount the person is sending you and a secure transaction code.

  1. Click Pay People.
  2. Read the welcome message, and click Continue.
  3. Click Get Money (in the Get Money box near the top of the page).
  4. Enter the transaction code and your e-mail address or mobile number,depending on how you were notified.
  5. Click Get Money.

The money is deposited into your account, and the payment details are added to your history.
