$10,000 donation to benefit Sunshine Place in wake of downtown explosion
SUN PRARIE, Wis. — Bank of Sun Prairie and Summit Credit Union have joined together to contribute $5,000 each to Sunshine Place, which provides access to social services that Sun Prairie residents need to support themselves in times of need. The donation is intended to support Sunshine Place’s efforts to help the community of Sun Prairie in the wake of a massive explosion that hit the downtown area on July 10, 2018, following a gas leak.
Jimmy Kauffman, president and CEO of Bank of Sun Prairie, commented, “This tragedy has really struck at the heart of our community, and our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was impacted by this tragic event. Partnering with Summit Credit Union on this donation shows the importance of community.”
Kim Sponem, president & CEO of Summit Credit Union, added, “Our hearts go out to the entire Sun Prairie community and all those whom this event has touched. Two competitors coming together to make this joint donation shows that it is people and community who come first to both of our organizations.”
