Summit Credit Union Empowers Members to Pursue Higher Education
Member-owned financial cooperative to award three $1,500 scholarships
MADISON, Wis.—Summit Credit Union is now accepting applications for its Board of Directors Scholarships, which award members who are high school seniors or currently enrolled in college. Each year, the Board of Directors Scholarship program awards three $1,500 continuing education scholarships in an effort to help members pursue higher education.
“At Summit, we believe that anyone can be financially successful, but there’s no doubt that achieving a post-secondary degree helps,” said Summit CEO/President Kim Sponem. “Our Board of Directors scholarships give us a chance to reward hard-working, driven students to help them achieve their educational and professional goals.”
Applications must be submitted to Summit Credit Union via postal mail by Tuesday, Feb. 28 and will be reviewed by external credit union professionals throughout the month of March. All applicants will be notified of their submission status by April 28, 2017, with winners being announced at Summit’s annual member celebration, Summit Fest, in the spring. To be eligible for consideration, students must be members of Summit Credit Union as of Jan. 1, 2017 through an individual or joint account and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Over the course of 2016, Summit distributed over $20,000 in scholarships to students throughout the Madison and Milwaukee areas. For more information about the Board of Directors Scholarships and to download an application, visit https://www.summitcreditunion.com/about/giving-back/scholarships.
