Summit Credit Union Named Madison Area’s Top Workplace
Financial institution honored in Wisconsin State Journal’s annual list of best employers
MADISON, Wis.—Summit Credit Union, a consumer-owned financial cooperative, has been named the Top Large Workplace in the Madison area by the Wisconsin State Journal. The annual list honors Madison companies demonstrating excellence in employee engagement and company culture.
“We’re proud of all the people who make Summit such a special place to work,” said Summit CEO & President Kim Sponem. “Empowerment, development and collaboration create a culture that allows us to help our members live richer lives.”
Nominated organizations were judged using a company-wide survey measuring employee engagement. Survey categories include communication and cooperation, development opportunities, leadership and more.
Survey responses were collected by Energage, an independent company specializing in the measurement of employee engagement and analysis of company culture. The nominated organizations with the highest aggregate levels of engagement were categorized by size and named to the Top Workplaces list.
Also named to Madison Magazine’s 2019 Best Places to Work list, Summit is committed to creating a working environment that offers professional development opportunities while promoting diversity and inclusion. Summit is also a three-time winner of the Association for Talent Development’s BEST award, a global award recognizing companies that demonstrate a culture of learning and development. Employees also enjoy paid volunteer hours, paid time off on birthdays, student loan payback and a new headquarters featuring a meditation room, recreation areas and other amenities designed to enhance employee health and wellness.
