Summit Ranked #1 in the U.S. for Value We Return to Members
September 25, 2024
>
News
We are thrilled to announce that Summit Credit Union gives more back to its members in total value than any other credit union in our asset group in the country, according to leading credit union data company Callahan & Associates.* That means that out of 428 credit unions, we ranked #1 in Return to Member.
Callahan measures this return to member every quarter, and Summit Credit Union is typically in the top 5. For the first and second quarters of 2024, we took the top spot. This is important because while we need to create profit to ensure safety and soundness, our members continue to benefit from our higher deposit rates and lower loan rates. It also measures how much our members use our products and services, and we’re proud to say that our members find significant value in what we offer as well.
Whether saving, borrowing or using other services, you come out ahead at Summit! Summit was not only #1 overall, but also ranked higher in quarter one of 2024 than any Wisconsin credit union in the peer group in all three individual categories: Members’ borrowing, saving and other service usage, including fees. In quarter two of 2024, Summit remained #1 for borrowing and service usage and came in a remarkably close second for saving. We also have our

,* a patronage dividend that the Board determines each year after ensuring we have built our reserves for continued strength. We are a cooperative, so members’ utilization of our products and services is important. The more members do business with Summit, the more they get back as a Cash Boomerang.
As a financial institution, we can’t responsibly offer the lowest loan rate and highest deposit rates and lowest fees in every category. On balance, our members get a much better deal than at other financial institutions.
We celebrate that Wisconsin credit unions continue to perform well in the country, with 3 credit unions in the top 10 and 8 in the top 100. We think that’s great news for the citizens of our state who benefit from the

. Team Summit is proud to see our care and dedication on behalf of members reflected in these great results!
You’ll find our members, online and in person, sharing stories of the value they find doing business with Summit Credit Union, and we appreciate those stories so much. An unbiased and data-driven source of information may also be helpful to confirm your decision to do business (or more business) with Summit. We’re excited to say we have that, too!
