Summit Credit Union Helps Local Change-Makers Through 100state Partnership

Two-year commitment to local entrepreneur hub bolsters community support

MADISON, Wis.—Summit Credit Union has agreed to a two-year sponsor partnership with Madison start-up and entrepreneurial center 100state, which will see the member-owned financial cooperative offer support totaling $20,000 over the next two years.

100state is Wisconsin’s largest co-working community. The Madison-based nonprofit supports innovative professionals and ideas aiming to solve the problems facing local people, businesses and organizations. Founded in 2013 by a group of Madison change-makers working in a train car, today 100state helps nearly 300 entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life.

“100state’s co-working community model is a great example of people coming together to foster entrepreneurship and make meaningful contributions to their community,” said Summit CEO and President Kim Sponem. “It really reflects the co-operative spirit of our Credit Union. We’re excited to support these local entrepreneurs and can’t wait to see the ways we can make Madison an even better place to thrive.”

Over the next two years, Summit will provide various resources to 100state members including personal and business finance coaching, monthly office hours from Summit’s Business Services staff, special event co-hosting and financial wellness seminars.

“Summit’s support of small businesses and entrepreneurs make them a perfect partner for us,” said 100state Executive Director, Gregory St. Fort. “Their passion for collaboration and community will be huge as our start-up, artist and non-profit members create solutions for Madison and our entire state.”

The partnership officially kicked off on Jan. 1 of this year and will continue through Dec. of 2018. For more information on 100state, visit www.100state.com.
