Madison Student Wins Continuing Education Scholarship From Summit Credit Union
East High School senior named recipient of $5,000 Faust Scholarship
MADISON, Wis.—Allison Bultman has been named this year’s winner of Summit Credit Union’s 2017 Faust Scholarship. The financial cooperative awards $5,000 for continuing education each year to eligible high school seniors who are members of the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County and either STAR Credit Union or Summit Credit Union.
Launched in 2005, STAR Credit Union is the world’s only youth-chartered credit union. STAR aims to teach financial literacy among members of the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County by providing access to financial services and the opportunity to participate in the development and operation of the credit union.
Bultman is currently a senior at Madison’s East High School. She belongs to various extracurricular programs including Empowered Sisterhood, Latino Student Union, Tower Times and the National Honor Society. She also has a passion for animals, often volunteering at the Henry Vilas Zoo, Heartland Farm Sanctuary and Dane County Humane Society. She will attend Edgewood College this fall to pursue a degree in chemistry in hopes of becoming a veterinarian.
“The Faust Scholarship offers a special chance for students at the Boys & Girls Club to pursue their higher-education goals, and honors Andy Faust, who served as our CEO for 28 years,” said Summit Credit Union CEO & President Kim Sponem. “We’re excited to recognize Allison’s determination and community involvement.”
Including the Faust Scholarship, Summit Credit Union awards over $20,000 in scholarships to students each year. To learn more about Summit’s scholarships, visit https://www.summitcreditunion.com/scholarships.
