Summit Credit Union Charms Members with Dynamic Summit Fest
Annual member meeting puts family first at Mallard’s Stadium in Warner Park
MADISON, Wis.—Over 2,200 people attended Summit Credit Union’s annual member meeting and family event, Summit Fest, at the Duck Pond (Mallards Stadium) at Warner Park on Sunday.
While many annual meetings showcase the previous year’s accomplishments, Summit throws in a picnic, obstacle races for kids 1-12, live music and other family activities. “Summit Fest is all about thanking our members,” said Summit Credit Union President & CEO Kim Sponem. “Our members help make a collective impact on the lives of individuals, families and the larger community. This is our chance to celebrate them.”
Summit had another successful year in 2017, holding its position as the top mortgage lender in Dane County1 for the eighth consecutive year and ranking in the top 8 percent nationally in financial returns to members.2 The member-owned financial cooperative and its members also raised nearly $10,000 to help provide financial resources to developing communities worldwide through the Summit Global Good Card™.
Each year, Summit uses the annual member meeting as an opportunity to honor recipients of its scholarship winners: Tia Parisi (Villanova University), Henry Jacobs (Edgewood High School) and Andrew Tietz (Waunakee High School) each received a $1,500 Board of Directors scholarship. The Urban League of Greater Madison’s 21st Century Careers program, awarded the $2,500 Mary Siedlecki Scholarship, was also recognized.
