Summit honored for young adult banking projects

Milwaukee, Wi — Bank On Greater Milwaukee today recognized Summit Credit Union as a CHAMPION for creating safe and affordable credit union accounts for Milwaukee residents and for innovation in financial education.

“Summit Credit Union joined the Bank On coalition in early 2021 as part of our ongoing commitment to support people on their road to financial stability and wellbeing with affordable banking options,” said Sarah Campagna, Summit’s managing vice president of financial empowerment. “We are proud to offer these products to our members every day and honored that Bank On gave Summit this recognition.”

Bank On awards its CHAMPION designation to individuals and organizations who have made an impact on the coalition’s work in building stronger financial futures for Greater Milwaukee residents.

Summit received the Product Development CHAMPION award because it was the first to join the coalition with three key banking products in place: an approved Student Checking plan, a Bank On-approved young adult account, and a credit builder loan.

Summit also received the Innovation CHAMPION award, a joint award shared with St. Charles Youth & Family Services, LadLake, Inc., and the Economic Awareness Council.  This 12-month program is designed to help develop crucial skills, including financial capability, for youth about to age out of the foster care system.

Bank On, with its 30 partner organizations, presented the awards at a virtual two-year anniversary celebration.
