Emily and Ginger's Journey:

Consistency is Key!

Nothing too major happened this week; it's been more about practicing consistency. Not every week is going to have a major milestone or celebratory event. That is the reality of life and often after the honeymoon/initial excitement phase wears off, that's when old habits tend to resurface. So, we like to practice mindfulness and consistency with our commitment to our new habits. We regularly check our budget on Summit's Climbr multiple times a week to make sure we are still in alignment with our goals. Just this week, we were able to put another $800 towards our home equity line; only $1700 left to pay off! Not bad considering two months ago it was closer to $6000!

Last weekend, we took a road trip to visit family and meet our friends' new baby. Rather than providing gift cards for meals for our friends who are settling in with their new baby, we choose to make homemade freezer meals that they could pull out and make anytime. Not only did this save on cost, it was fun to make them meals from scratch.

This week, Ginger will be traveling out of town for work, and Emily will be on single parent duty. Meal planning and prep were all the more important this week, so that Emily wouldn't be left in a position to have to cook complicated meals on her own or worse off, be left to order take-out. We planned very easy, cost effective meals for the entire week. Continuing to put in that elbow grease is paying off big in the long run! And, we especially keep dreaming about our mamas-only vacation that we are planning for the spring of 2020! Where should we go?! Drop a comment below with your favorite places to travel!
