Conversation about Finances
I have noticed since being in Project Money that the conversation about money has become much easier for me. I used to feel very uncomfortable talking about money with friends and sometimes even my clients. Now, I have found the conversation with friends starts off about Project Money, and then they start to share helpful things they have done. Plus, I have friends that are learning from the program as well. It’s like it opens a deeper connection with friends when we can talk openly about our finances. Having a deeper connection with others translates to a great level of emotional health. Being able to openly talk about our stressors with money takes away some of that stress. Start talking about, it’s important, the good, bad and the ugly. Like I mentioned before, talking about money with friends makes it easier to talk with my clients about money as well. This helps with their overall health as well.
This week homework from my coach is to look at what do my daughter and I want in house. What are our needs, wants and what we can do without. My daughter loves to talk about this stuff so we talked about it together on our long walk. It’s nice to plan it together. My coach, Myrphy, suggested to do my research on what is out there first to get a good idea on price. Along with that research, my second assignment is to make sub account within my online banking account. Mind Minder helps you organize your budget, and gives you a timeline for saving. The online banking gives you a chance to organize your saving goals into separate accounts, which is important. Some great tools to use for budgeting are online banking and Money Minder. So get it!
