Facing your fears
This week I got a chance to go on channel NBC 15 live news to talk more about my journey on Project Money. I knew my time was coming but still I was super nervous. Usually when I’m nervous about anything I just try to block it out of my mind and act like it’s not there. Which doesn’t really work, but why was I afraid in the first place? I’m going to be sitting next to an expert. Going through this experience just makes me so grateful for Project Money how it really forces me to face my fears. Just like going on TV, everyone would like to experience that because hey it’s a cool story to tell, but most don’t really want to do it because of fear.
I can honestly say I have been fearful for a while towards taking an honest look at my finances and going after my dream to own a house. Being a health entrepreneur and looking at my finances it just really reminded me of my “failures” and that I am not where I want to be. I’m learning the more you lean into your fears or things you are nervous about there is so much joy on the other side. Having experts to support you when facing your fears helps you move when you maybe get stuck in your head, get a coach! Summit Credit union has several, my coach is Murphy Vaughan, she is great! I believe even if major actions are not happening, facing your fears and being honest on how you are spending your money, your relationship with money, how you budget money, your active income and even if you have passive income, being honest about money is a great step to take toward reaching your goals. Facing your fears to being brave enough to say I’m not where I want to be, however I am ready to take steps towards getting there. You can do, we can do it! Let’s go do it!
