Moriah and Terrance's Journey:

Financial Firsts

What a week! This has truly been a week of financial firsts for our family! It's incredible what a little financial awareness can do! There was so much to share that we decided to do a top 5 wins list just to help focus our thoughts! Here we go!

FINANCIAL FIRST #1! Our son Daylen is turning 1! Which means (if all goes to plan) we are done with formula!!!!!!!!!! We easily spend $100+ in formula on top of his other food. We already decided on an organic replacement, and the projected expense will only cost us $30-$40 a month! That's a win!

FINANCIAL FIRST #2! Terrance used a coupon for the first time!!!!! He pulled a $1 off coupon of a cereal box. If nothing else, it shows that he is more aware of finding opportunities to save. A little leads to a lot!

FINANCIAL FIRST #3! We have always done ok with pre-planning meals for dinner, but for lunch at work, not so much. So with well thought out meal preparation, we did not spend a dime on lunch at work all week!

FINANCIAL FIRST #4! Through the use of coupons, Moriah got $19.25 knocked off our weekly grocery bill! The most to date! She took the time before shopping to look online and check the paper. Best part is, she was already under budget BEFORE the coupons were applied!

And finally 5. Thanks to Summits' Money Minder tools, we were able to truly see how much money we had to work with as a unit, not as individuals. It allowed us to plot out our financial plans which led to FINANCIAL FIRST #5! WE PAID OFF ONE OF OUR CREDIT CARDS!!!!!!!!!! The best part, is that we did it as a team! We are one step closer to solidifying our money marriage!

Come back next week to see if we can top this one. Our Anniversary is next week. We'll share how we do it big on a budget!!!! Until then.....
