Emily's Journey:
Free finds, for the DOGS!
I’ve been looking for new ways to cut back on spending for the dogs. But, I still like to spoil the cuties because they are my fur babies!
Last week, the local pet store had a customer appreciation weekend. There were lots of promotions they were running, so I thought it would be a perfect time to pick up a bag of dog food. I spent $60 at the store for the jumbo bag and since I spent over $50; I ended up with a bunch of freebies. The dogs new engraved dog tags (name and phone number), a free small bag of dog food in addition to the food I purchased, a couple of free cow ear dog treats and a customer appreciation goodie bag (with more treats and toys of course). The dogs loved the goodies and I liked the price. Sometimes items at the local pet store can be a little pricier than your big box stores, but the quality, promotions and customer service always seems to be a little better!
In addition, the local pet store puts out a monthly promotions calendar where they frequently give 10-15% off dog food, toys and supplies. I was sure to make a note of the promotions I was interested in and add it in my calendar so I can stock up! I also asked about any buy one get one programs. The food that the dogs love has a buy 12 bags get one free, as long as you keep the UPC codes. So, make sure you ask your local store because specialty food brands provide this offer.
Next on the list for these fluffy guys is homemade dog treats! Who has some great recipes that are budget friendly!?
