Emily's Journey:
Here we go!!
The first week of Project Money is officially in the books! My goals for this week were to get some things organized in Summit’s Climbr (an awesome budgeting app we get for being a Summit Credit Union member) and figure out where the big areas of spending are for me.
Notes taken so far: dining out, Target and Home Depot! So, some easy things to combat, right? Easier said than done. First on the list: Eat the food that is in the fridge, have a plan when I go grocery shopping and maybe take a little time to clip some coupons before I head out. That is exactly what I did this week. I started by making a list of what I am going to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I clipped some coupons online and added them to my loyalty card and found some deals in local ads before heading out. Yes, a little more work but saved me $32.04! I took today to prep anything that was needed for lunch this week since I will be in the office instead of traveling for work. No dining out for lunch or fast food this week because I wasn’t prepared. Being prepared isn’t half the battle, it is the battle! I will be trying some new recipes for dinner this week to keep things interesting.
My free fun for the week will be some outdoor live music at Chill on the Hill, where carry-ins are welcome. I will bring my own food and drink (from the fridge!) and maybe a couple of pups will tag along with me. Should be beautiful weather!
