Venus' Journey:

House Seeking

This week I attacked my homework assignment my financial coach assigned me, which was to go over what our wants, needs and must haves are in a home. I was also instructed to do some online searching on what property taxes and prices look like around in the surrounding areas, not just the city of Madison.  I had a discussion with Madison and we both agreed we need two bathrooms, and at least three bedrooms. For me, I want to continue living in the Madison area because my child goes to the Madison schools, I would also prefer to continue living on the south east side of town because that is close to her school. Therefore, I didn’t look at surrounding areas because it’s not a desire and I don’t want to get distracted or upset by prices in areas where I don’t want to be. I know what I want so I will adjust accordingly.

After doing some online researching, I got really inspired and felt like my goal of owning a home is attainable. My coach did warn me to just look and not commit to any house in particular. I can say I found I house I really like and it’s literally down the street from where we live, plus it’s in Madison’s school district. It’s exciting to see what is out there and line up my financial goals with that also. I am excited about the journey and learning more about the process.
