When Greg and I were chosen to participate in Project Money, we were super excited. Little did we know the vast wealth of knowledge that our coach James and the Summit team would bring to the table. Blown away!
What a wild ride

It has been eight months since I got a phone call that changed my life! Amy from Summit Credit Union called saying I was selected for season 15 of Project Money. t’s hard to believe today I am writing my last blog. To say it was a wild ride is an understatement. I have said it before and I will say it again, I am so grateful for this experience. It was the kick in the pants I needed to get my finances in order and make my financial goals and myself a priority again.

Reflections of the way life used to be….
It is the last day of 2023, which is a perfect time to reflect upon our Project Money journey. Seven short months ago we found out that we had been accepted into the program and were given the instructions of how to proceed. Thankfully, we were paired with Jess, our amazing project coach, and she never judged us and let us know right away that it was okay not to be perfect. We didn’t realize just how messy our life was because we had been too busy with the business of living. At our first meeting with Jess, she got to know us a bit and it became apparent to her that:

This is the last blog of 2023, and the last blog for this season of Project Money. This has been a journey, and I am so appreciative for everything that I’ve learned, the people that I have met and the support that I have received. It feels like yesterday that I got the call that I was chosen as a participant, and here I am, successfully completing the objectives of the program and reaching the goals I set. I have done so much in such a short amount of time; this has been eye opening for me to see what I truly am capable of if I put my mind to it.
Staying focused on my finances through the holidays

I still can’t believe how quick this year has gone. It really flew by. We are literally 10 days away from Christmas as I type! That being said, I am staying true to what I said a couple blogs back. I am spending more time this year making holiday gifts than I am spending money on them. I am still doing my electronic cookbook for my family. I have been working hard on putting all the recipes from my family into this app, and I am baking cookies and making dog treats to give out to the family and friends.

I am thankful that I excel at starting things and coming up with new ideas. If this were not the case, I wouldn’t have filled out the application for Project Money! My end game is not as strong, and I have to apply a lot of effort in order to see a long-term project through. Thankfully, taking part in Project Money has resulted in Travis and I being held accountable for our actions. There are specific rules to this project which involve recording commercials, submitting social media posts and completing this weekly blog.
