6 months and counting!

After six months of hard work, planning, and discipline, we've reached the end of Project Money 2017! Some would think that the hard part is over. But I think the hard part is just beginning.

Seven days until the day we come to the end of Project Money. Wow. When we started this I will be honest I thought this was going to be the longest six month project we had ever done. I also thought, great six months of what I can’t have. I know, little bit of a Debbie Downer attitude. But we really WANTED help. We wanted to change how we thought about, spent and saved money. I have three major takeaways from this I want to share with everyone.

Our Project Money experience has been centered around good planning and execution. Now that we are coming to the end of this journey, we thought it would be good to tackle one more area in which we need some help: Retirement. We have no idea what we are doing when it comes to retirement planning.

Winter is truly upon us and so is the final stretch of Project Money 2017! And both of these events bring some challenges. Winterizing the house, car maintenance, elevated heating bills just to name some. And then there's the challenge managing all these expenses responsibly. So, like we have done since the beginning of this project, we made a plan on how to proceed. This is what and how we are doing.

Last week we talked about the secrets of money savings and debt pay off. Although it is true there was no big secret that everyone outside of Project Money doesn’t know. There are ideas and tips to share, what worked for us, what hasn’t worked. Part of participating in Project Money was being willing and able to be open and share financial information with complete strangers, honestly.
