Sometimes It Doesn't Pay to be Cheap
Moriah and Terrance
Everyone needs a break now and then. And that was exactly what I was planning to do. In May I planned a Daylen and Mommy trip. We were going to leave Terrance to his video games and comic books and go visit a friend in North Carolina for a long weekend. My friend Jamie and her husband have two little boys, the youngest is the same age as Daylen, it was going to be a blast. I had been looking forward to this trip since May 20th to be exact. Then it happened, I had to cancel the trip.

Babies Are Expensive
Moriah and Terrance
Wants v. needs. That is one of the first things our coach Rachel said we needed to keep repeating to ourselves when we are going to spend money. Seems easy enough. I WANT a new pair of black heels, do I NEED another black shoe when I already have 10 pairs to choose from? I think I can make do without this time.

Let’s talk about Target
Moriah and Terrance
Moriah here! Come, sit, let’s talk about Target. It’s okay that you like to shop there. It may even be your happy place. It’s mine. I LOVE Target. I like to wander and look at all the clearance end caps. But, if you are like me, your planned $20 Target run quickly turns into $50, $60, maybe event $100.

Project Money isn’t about changing your life to win a contest. Although winning is of course the cherry on the sundae. It’s about making sustainable progress financially. So it’s me it’s about SMART Target shopping not NO Target shopping.

So this Project Money process has taught us many things about how we manage our finances. And we have experienced a lot of success so far. But we feel it's important to share our not so successful moments as well. It's easy to get to miss things when you’re riding a wave of positive momentum.
