Emily's Journey:
November Budget Set!
November has officially begun, and that means Black Friday, Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up. I did things a little differently this month than previously to make sure I’m going to be on budget.
- I made a list of all appointments and anything I may need to replenish for toiletries and set a rough guideline of how much those items usually cost. For example, I need my car’s oil changed, I have a haircut this month, my quarterly water bill is due and I need to make a Target run for face wash and shampoo. Summit's Climbr® cashflow calendar is great for keeping track of these items and expenses.
- I cancelled my gym membership. This will give me a little extra cash on hand to spend for holiday gifts.
- I’ve been setting aside money for the past two months for Christmas gifts. This will help me stay on track for my spending and not have the credit card debt rack up this holiday season.
- I’ve picked up a part-time job. Lots of places hire seasonal workers for just the holiday season. This is great way to earn a few dollars for your Christmas gifts you are looking to buy.
Looking forward to a successful November!
