Moriah and Terrance's Journey:

Peter and Paul both got paid!

Strange title, I know. But it will all make sense soon. This week we got hit by a tax bill, a medical bill, and a home repair bill. Surprise! Oh! And the mortgage is also due. In 6 days we had to pay out over $1,700 in BILLS!!!!! Talk about hemorrhaging money. Before, this would have put us into a tailspin. Robbing Peter to pay Paul, paying less on debts, delaying some payments all together. But not this time!

At our very first meeting we had with our financial coach, Rachel, we established several different savings accounts for just such situations. Essentially Peter, Paul, and the IRS all had an account dedicated to expenses related to them. Though it was annoying, it was nice to be able to take care of those expenses without derailing us financially. Before, it was a safe bet that some of that cash would have been spent on something else and would not be available in just such a pinch. But having a place for, and most importantly, a PLAN for that money saved us a major headache! So thanks Rachel for the great coaching! I'm sure Peter and Paul thank you too!
