Moriah and Terrance's Journey:

So it begins!

Project Money 2017 and our first blog post.......where to start? To tell the truth we have no idea what we are doing! But it's that the point of all this, right? When you know you have a problem the first step is admitting it. Then seeking help. And that is what Project Money is for our family. The help we need to get on the same page financially as a family, develop good sustainable habits, and (most importantly) REDUCE DEBT! Yeah we are a little nervous. Yes it's a little scary. But in the end we know it will be truly worth it to be money 'married'

So to get stared the first thing we did was learn about Money Minder. What's that? Simply put it's an amazing tool to view all your financial accounts (checking, savings, credit cards) in one place. This was fantastic for us because we never consolidated our accounts after we got married. And a big problem we have always had is not knowing where our money was going. Now we have the complete picture and can start tackling our debt as a team instead of individuals.

Moving forward we are going to start with the basics, establishing a realistic budget. If we can do this, stick to it, and pick up money saving habits along the way (which we will share) this will lead to our ultimate goal which is REDUCING DEBT. So follow along with us!
