Madison’s Journey in Project Money

It’s such a blessing to go through this Project Money journey with my daughter, who is still in 3rd grade, learning how to add and subtract and just recently multiplication. When I first told Madison that we were in Project Money, her first reaction was “are we going to win more money to go to Disney World!?” I was like…sure that could work.

Starting your own business can be very frightening, to think it’s you and you alone to make it happen and provide for your family. I have made a lot of mistakes starting off, I had no clue about the amount of self-discipline and immense amount of a positive attitude that is required.

This past week I have been talking to Madison about keeping track of all her money in one place. She is still talking about wanting this rumble bubble, which I really think is ridiculous and a waste of money.

About 2 years ago, my daughter asked to join Girl Scouts. I thought that was the cutest thing ever because it was something that she came up with on her own. My guess is she was watching something on TV about it because I have never brought it up before. Therefore, I had to do a little bit of research on what Girls Scouts actually was because just selling cookies is not something I settle for personally.

One thing I noticed with myself when it comes to spending money is I don’t like to spend too much. I really don’t desire a lot of things because too many things stress me out. However, I noticed that I sometimes or, most of the time, I am tight with my money because I don’t necessarily have that much to spend, but when I do have a lot to spend my habits change.
Steps to becoming debt free

Before I started Project Money my biggest goal was to get rid of all of my debt. I feel like it does something to your well-being when you owe somebody for something. I remember how I felt when I paid one of my student loans off completely. It was a major weight lifted off me when I did it.
