Jaclyn and Kiara's Journey:
working harder than we thought for that house!
You know that feeling that you get when you are able to achieve a goal? We have been working so hard these past few months that sometimes it hardly seems worth it. Physically and mentally, we are tired but with working 70+ hours a week, that comes with the process. It seemed to be just a never-ending cycle of eat, sleep (well maybe for a few hours if we can) and repeat. You never think that you see the finish line and if you do, you are running backwards and not getting any closer.
Therefore, we know that we have been doing a wonderful job paying things off. We have paid off a credit card, auto loan and technically our Summit credit card once. That’s thousands of dollars just since June alone and that’s pretty awesome. We are feeling quite unstoppable!
Do you want to know the frustrating thing? We know that even though we are getting our debt paid off, we’re not saving nearly enough for our down payment for that dream house. So when we went to our last meeting with Jamie, we were pleased to know that even though we are not saving right now we are kicking butt on our credit scores! When we started Project Money in June, Kiara’s credit grade was a D and five months later, she is at a B credit grade and climbing! Jaclyn also had a great rise in credit! Her score went from a B to an A, almost an A+. Not only is this going to help us with getting a loan for our future home, but it will give us a lower interest rate when the time comes for any type of loan or credit that we may be interested in.
With that being said, nothing has made us so happy and so proud in this journey! What it tells us is that when we finish paying off our debt and are able to save up for our down payment, we will be able to get our dream house with ease!
