Costa Rica was amazing! It 100% lives up to its slogan, Pura Vida, which means “pure life.” Everyone we met, from our airport shuttle driver, Christian, to our tour guides on our excursions, was wonderful. I highly recommend going if you have the opportunity. The language barrier was only a minor inconvenience, as most people who live there speak English, at least enough to communicate your needs. If it’s not one thing, it’s another. There are weeks when I feel extremely confident, and then there are weeks when I feel like my money is being spent left and right. Bills used to be a lot easier to ignore, but of course ignoring them was not the right thing to do long term. For instance, the water bill, which arrives in our mailbox on a quarterly basis, always seems to show up when we are least prepared for it. Last quarter, I misplaced the bill, and it was out of sight and out of mind, so it was paid late. Greg and I have always prided ourselves on having“curb appeal” in our neighborhood. First impressions are key. The first time we met our coach James and his team of Paula and Ed, we were impressed with their game plan and how focused they were with improving our financial situation. This week, we took a few days to go on a trip together! We called it a ‘Midwest tour’ and started out in Wisconsin Dells. The highlight of this stop was taking a ride with the WI Dells Boat Tours and taking in all the natural scenery on a beautiful fall day. We also liked strolling around downtown and had a tasty lunch at a local bar and grill. A favorite part of our travels was taking in the local sights and getting a feel for each place. I still can’t believe that I will be turning 40 in November. Forty years around the sun, as they say. I don’t feel like I look 40, and I don’t feel 40. Even though this is a milestone party for me, I am keeping Project Money in mind while I am making plans for my party. That being said, I am trying to make this party memorable but on a budget! How much time do you spend getting ready for a vacation? Like so many, we get excited about spending time away from the grind of daily life struggles. We love sun, beach and travel. So, why don’t we spend time getting our finances together? Greg and I are so thankful for Project Money and the team for putting a plan together for our success!  We hav The more the project continues, the more I grow a greater appreciation for accountability partners. They are people who are there to support you and have an extra set of eyes that may see things you don’t. My coach is a great accountability partner. She catches things that I sometimes don’t and is always able to educate me in things I may not know. I’m often a procrastinator and she catches anything I may lack in before I have the chance to do so. Nothing major is happening right now. Everything over here is running smoothly. Work is going well, kids are enjoying school, and our fall/winter activities are starting up, which are also going well. My work schedule aligns with the kids’ schedules this year, finally, and also gives me time to tend to my personal obligations. In the past years, they have had to go to the Boys & Girls Club after school until I was off from the job I had at that time.
