Meet Hawa

Hawa M. Bah | Madison La Follette High School
Year in school:

Senior at Madison La Follette

When I grow up I want to be:

Marine Biologist or Voice Actor

When I go to college, I would like to attend:

Undecided, but somewhere great!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I am a Sales Associate at Marshalls and like to volunteer my time at a retirement home. At school, I am in Forensics, DECA, and the school play and musical. I also enjoy spending quality time with my mother.

What’s your favorite subject?

Orchestra and Biology

When it comes to money, what would you like to learn?

I want to learn the true value and worth of the American dollar and how to save and spend wisely.

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?

I would donate to The Humane Society of the United States, Charity: Water, Cancer Research Intuition, National Resource Defense Counsel, Briarpatch Youth Services, and National Sexual Violence Resource Center. With the money left over, I would put half in my savings and give the rest to my family back in Africa.

What is the most exciting thing you've ever done?

I rode the roller coaster Hades 360 with my friend at Mt. Olympus. It is an experience I’ll never forget.

What have you done that really scared you?

I went to a haunted house with family friends and cried the entire time. Not by best moment.

What excites you most about Project Teen Money?

Creating fun videos with my peers. I have a lot of ideas and I can’t wait to share with others!

“At the end of this challenge, I hope that I improve my video and editing skills, pick up some tips to take with me to college, and educate my peers on how to wisely spend, give, and save their money!”
