Member‐owned cooperative also takes top ranking in Columbia CountyMADISON, Wis.— For the eighth year in a row, Summit Credit Union is the number one mortgage lender in Dane County, surpassing all area financial institutions. Determined by total number of loans closed, the member‐owned financial cooperative is also the top lender in Columbia County this year.“Helping our members with home loans is one of the biggest ways we impact their lives,” said Summit CEO & President Kim Sponem. “We’re really proud that we can help so many people in our communities achieve the life they want.”The designation comes at a dynamic time for Madison’s largest credit union, which was recently ranked in the top 4 percent in the country for financial returns to members. The member‐owned financial cooperative is expected to continue its growth this year and broke ground on its new Cottage Grove headquarters last October. The 152,000‐square‐foot, six‐story campus is set to open in 2019.To connect with a Summit mortgage loan officer or learn more about Summit’s programs, visit
