>Summit’s Credit Card Controls are totally optional but it’s a great way to make managing and controlling your Summit credit card easier. And it’s flexible for your needs! You can set up controls or alerts (or both) and customize them based on what works best for you – even changing your settings from card to card if you have multiple Summit credit card accounts. >>>
>Choose from a variety of options for your needs, including controls and alerts related to:>>>
My Regions>> – Based on where in-store credit card transactions happen (as in, where the physical store is located).>>>
>Spending Limits>> – Based on a maximum dollar amount (which you can set per transaction or as a total for the month).>>>
>Transaction Type>> – Based on what type of purchase it is (for example, online or in-store purchases).>>>
>Merchant Type>> – Based on what type of shopping category the transaction falls into (for example, restaurants or gas stations).>>>
>Unlock>>/Lock>>– Easily "unlock" your card to allow purchases or "lock" to block activity on your card.>>>
>>>>>
>Use the “My Regions” option if you want to restrict your Summit credit card in-store transactions to a certain region (you can choose up to five regions). This might be a region on a map, a city, a state, a ZIP code or a country. You can also opt to get an alert when a transaction happens outside the region you’ve defined.>>>
For example: While you’re traveling to California, you can update your settings to only allow in-store purchases in California – or even narrow it down to just San Diego or another region you define. Just remember to update your settings again when you get back home.>>>
And before you travel, be sure to also give Summit a heads up for fraud detection purposes!>>>
>You can set up to five regions for each primary phone or other device on the account (note that a joint account can only have one primary device). To choose your region, search by country, state, city or ZIP code. Or, you can use your fingers to “pinch” the map on the screen and make your defined region smaller or bigger.>>>
Any region you define needs to be at least a 15-mile radius. Once your region is set, name it and then click “Save.”>>>
>Yes! While card controls can help manage your spending, you’ll still need to alert Summit of any travel plans – outside or inside the U.S. That way, we’ll know that purchases where you’re traveling aren’t considered suspicious and shouldn’t be blocked for your security.>>>
To enter a travel note for us, simply log in to your online or mobile banking and select your “Credit Card,” then “Card controls,” then “Travel Notices.” Or, you can always call us with your travel plans instead at 800-236-5560.>>>
>To accurately control, or alert you to, locations-based transactions, the app will need permission to access your location services information on the primary mobile device for your account. If that mobile device is turned off, without cellular service, or if it doesn’t provide GPS location coordinates, the app will use the last saved GPS location.>>>
After eight hours without cellular service or GPS location coordinates, any “Location” control or alert you’ve set will be ignored temporarily. Although controls won’t be triggered to deny transactions based on Location preferences during this down time, you’d still be alerted that a transaction happened.>>>
>Use the “Spending Limits” option if you want to restrict your Summit credit card transactions based on a specific dollar amount. You can set a maximum dollar amount per transaction or per month. You can also opt to get an alert when a transaction amount goes over your set dollar amount. >>>
>Select the transaction types you would like to allow:>>>
In-store >>>
>Ecommerce>>>
>ATM transactions>>>
>>>>>
>Select the Merchant types you want to allow:>>>
Gas Stations>>>
>Groceries>>>
>Restaurants>>>

>Use the “Unlock>>/Lock>>” control if you want to restrict purchases to when your Summit credit card is “on.” You can easily unlock or lock your with a single touch, and you can unlock it for even a short time – like when you’re out shopping for an afternoon. Locking your card is also a fast, easy way to prevent unauthorized purchases if your card is lost or stolen. Changes to your card status show up instantly on the app. >>>
>You can lock your Summit credit cards and leave them that way for as long as you’d like. And when you’re ready to buy something with your Summit credit card, it’s quick and easy to unlock your card (and then lock it again, if you wish). Note that when your Summit credit card is locked, card transactions are denied by any controls you’ve set, but alerts are still generated for attempted transactions. >>>
>A recurring automated payment you’ve set up to be taken from your Summit credit card (for example, a monthly utility bill) would still go through, based on your available credit limit. This is because auto-pay transactions and credits (like deposits, returns and reversals) are exempt from controls or alerts you set, including locking your card. >>>
>As long as your mobile device has an internet connection, you can use Summit’s Credit Card Controls anywhere. Note that while card controls can help manage your spending, you’ll still need to alert Summit of any travel plans – outside or inside the U.S. – for fraud detection purposes. >>>
>There’s no limit. If you have multiple Summit credit cards, you’ll see all of them in your Credit Card Controls and be able to customize each card with the controls and/or alerts of your choice. >>>
>Nope! As long as you’ve allowed the app permission to notify you, you’ll see notifications as “push notifications” – or messages from the app that automatically show up on your mobile device. >>>
