Make a Payment Rates About Careers Contact Locations Diana, a marketing business owner active in local tourism and property management, and Greg, a newly retired master carpenter, are looking to Project Money to shift their mindset from “wants” to “needs” to make sustainable financial decisions.
James is back as a Project Money coach for the second year in a row and can’t wait to help Diana and Greg take the best steps to their goals – and build skills they can use to reach any goal in the future! Q: What’s the biggest thing that Project Money does for people? A: It’s eye-opening to see where money’s going and how it could be working better. You don’t know what you don’t know! I love that others can follow along and learn, too – last season, my whole team got involved in the stories and helped with the participants’ progress. Q: Any overall tips for Diana and Greg’s journey? A: Don’t compare yourself to others financially. You may feel everyone else has it together, but you can’t see behind the scenes. Also, really own where you’re spending money so we can see needs and where to cut back. Q: To you, what’s the one financial “must?” A: Take time, once a month or once a week, to look at where your money’s going and note your needs and wants. Have a budget and game-plan for big purchases. Q: What’s something wish you could tell everyone about finances? A: Pay as you go, and you’ll never owe. Also, if you feel behind in financial knowledge, you’re not alone and we can help. Q: What do you love most about what you do at Summit? A: Putting members on a path to make what they need easier for them now and in the future. We work as a team at all levels, trying to make loan requests a “yes” even if that means working with members to build up to that “yes” later. Q: Fun fact about you? A: I love playing golf and softball and spending time with my wife and daughter. We always take a summer trip to either the Dells or a beach.
