Ana is a nutrition coordinator at a local community center and mom to two young adults (and a cat). Ana’s goals with Project Money are to pay off her credit card debt, create a realistic budget and save to own a home. She’s hoping she can teach her kids everything she learns, too!
Q: Why did you apply for Project Money?
A: I decided to apply because I would like to pay off my credit card debt by the end of the year and want to learn how to build my credit. I would also like to teach my kids how money works! I think this is a good way to grow your knowledge, develop as an individual and improve your quality of life.
Q: What do you feel is the value of getting to work with a Summit Financial Coach?
A: I’m excited to have the right person to ask all the questions about how to reach all my financial goals and what strategies I can use to develop to reach them. It will fundamentally transform my everyday quality of life by unlocking freedom, improving health and shifting my entire mindset!
Q: How confident do you feel about money, and what do you wish you knew more?
A: I don’t feel confident right now. I would like to learn more about how to live on a budget, build an emergency fund to protect against unexpected costs, understand interest rates (like credit cards) and pay my balances down as quickly as possible to avoid long-term traps (as I feel I am in one right now).
Q: What impact do you think this experience will have on your kids?
A: I think it could impact my kids’ lives by breaking generational stress, teaching them lifelong habits about finances and directly helping them fund their futures. Also, I hope it helps them have emotional security and long-term success in life!
Q: Fun fact about you?
A: I have a passion to cook and bake for people, I like to hike, I love to sing, play drums and guitar. My most memorable moments in life are when my kids were born, I love serving people and traveling.
We’re excited to see how much you’ll learn during this journey, Ana!
