Nothing major is happening right now. Everything over here is running smoothly. Work is going well, kids are enjoying school, and our fall/winter activities are starting up, which are also going well. My work schedule aligns with the kids’ schedules this year, finally, and also gives me time to tend to my personal obligations. In the past years, they have had to go to the Boys & Girls Club after school until I was off from the job I had at that time. Then, I had to rush to get them after work and go to whatever activity they had, which left little time to cook and enjoy dinner or do anything else in the evening before bedtime. It got to be very hectic and chaotic at times. Now, with the schedule I have with this job, I can appreciate the benefits that come with it. I’ve spent the past month or so perfecting our new routine, and I’ve been able to reflect on what I have been able to change and how that’s helped with this journey. The main thing I’ve noticed is that it helps with saving money. I’m able to prepare and cook dinner instead of eating out or grabbing fast food on the go. The kids have also been able to play with their neighborhood friends and their outside toys, ride their bikes, etc. Not only does this help with entertainment instead of going to spend money elsewhere, but it also gives them a sense of relaxation instead of going from one obligation to the next. Those are just a couple of examples that I’ve noticed positive change in that helped with overall spending. I’m pleased with how everything is coming together, not only with Project Money but also with my life and family.
