Why Not Us?!

June 19, 2023 Hi there, we are Greg and Diana, and when we first heard of Project Money, we thought, why not us? We definitely have a story to tell, and our hope is to inspire others. We’ve had a business account at Summit Credit Union for years; love the team at Summit. They’ve helped us with loans for our car and truck and a Home Equity Line of Credit. We are retired from carpentry and marketing, with kids grown and out of the house … yeah! We are down to working part time, and our goal was to sell our house, move to Osage Beach, Missouri, on the lake, and we were set. Loving the four seasons of Wisconsin, honestly, winter is not our favorite. Really can’t get a shovel to fit in our hands anymore, we knew the housing market was hot, and we were ready! Bags packed and we were g-o-n-e!Fast forward, we did NOT expect to be hit with a $19,000 federal overpayment. Yes, we said $19,000.  Let’s be clear, we are not quitters or whiners. We figure out a way to do it and get it done!Took the house off the market and put our recovery plan into action. Let’s talk COVID. Not saying another word, you know what a setback that was for everyone. How about two major back surgeries? Okay, get the picture? Enter Project Money – our spirits were lifted with a financial coaching team that was ready to roll up their sleeves and help us gain momentum toward our lake house goal. Budgets, tracking our expenses, being realistic and accountable to our coach. We know Project Money truly does have our best interests in mind. We now have a recipe for success, a team, some serious goals and we can see the lake house from here. The journey ahead will be exciting, challenging and possibly frustrating; however, we are confident the outcome will be amazing!!!!!Let’s get the party started,Greg & Diana
