When you call us at 800-236-5560 or 608-243-5000, our 24/7 voice-led phone support, Via Voice, helps you get answers and get where you need to go sooner. And as of November 18, you can also use Via to manage your account – replacing Teller Phone. You can still talk with a Summit team member anytime during our normal Contact Center hours! Get to know how voice-led phone support makes it easier to manage your account and avoid navigating long menu options. Via Voice replaces Teller Phone as of November 18, but you can still manage your account 24/7! Note just a couple differences. Using Via Voice is easy — and taking these quick steps will make it even simpler. Find answers to common questions about Via Voice.

It’s Easy to Talk With Via

Just say what you need in your own words, like "I want to check my balance." No need to wait for menu options! (Our menu's still there if you want it.) Via will answer your question, help you take action on your account, or ask a follow-up question to better understand what you need. Even outside regular business hours! Just say “Help” or “Speak with a team member.” And no need to wait on hold! Just request a callback — Via will keep your place in line and have someone reach out. If you started a conversation on our website in Via Chat (in lower right corner of our site), pick up where you left off when you call to talk to a team member. We'll already be up to speed!

Via Voice Will Replace Teller Phone as of November 18

You'll still be able to manage your account with the most common actions you rely on today! We’ll keep adding more capabilities to Via over time but for now, note key differences in:
  • Detailed transaction search options – Searching by check number, transaction type, dollar amount, exact date range or a specific number of recent transactions won’t be available right away, but Via will provide transactions from newest to oldest after you select the account. You can also tell Via you only want transactions from "last week" or "this month" or "this year."
  • Mortgage and credit card servicing – A few select account self-service options, like mortgage or credit card balance inquiries and mortgage or credit card payments, won’t be available at first with Via. When that changes, we’ll be sure to let you know. You can still connect with a Summit team member during business hours for mortgage or credit card help, or make mortgage or credit card payments anytime in online or mobile banking.

Steps to Make Using Via Even Simpler

Here are things you can do to help Via get you answers faster:
  • Make sure your phone number is correct in digital banking. In some cases, Via may require additional verification before sharing account details, with a one-time passcode to your mobile device.
  • Nickname your accounts in digital banking. Via can still help you without account nicknames — but If you have multiple savings or checking accounts, nicknaming them can make it even quicker to recognize and take action on the account you’re looking for.

For example, when you’re checking balances or making transfers, instead of hearing more general account types or identifiers, you’d hear the nickname you chose – like “Holiday Fund.” Make them as fun and inspiring as you want, such as “Savings for Paris" or "Toes in the Sand" for a vacation fund.
    • Here's how to set up account nicknames:
      • Log in to Summit online banking or your mobile app and select your account.
      • Choose "View Account Details" if you’re in online banking ("Details" in mobile).
      • Select the pencil icon next to the current account name.
      • Enter your account nickname, then choose "Update."
