July 22, 2026 The last few weeks David and I have been really trying to buckle down and cut the small spending, but then the evenings get hectic and it’s so easy to just fall back on ‘let’s order a pizza instead of making something we have’. Or we just got the kitchen clean, and all the dishes done, and now we don’t want to cook anything. We have still done better overall this month, but still not as good as we could be doing. We also are trying to get our girls more involved in the process and explaining to them what we’re trying to do. Ultimately, we are hoping that they can learn to be more responsible as adults than we are by instilling some of the advice and tools we gather from this program. Our five-year-old is more than willing to yell at us if we mention stopping for coffee or looking at flowers. We have, however been able to pay down more of our debt. I am picking up extra shifts at my part time job and have added a couple more cleaning clients (even if one of them is just my mom) and we can put all that extra income towards something. Plus David gets an extra paycheck this month which we normally would have blown on coffee, Barbies, and plants…but now are putting it to the next balance on the chopping block. Project Money makes it super motivating to pick up those extra shifts because there’s more incentive to do it.Next Friday we look forward to meeting with Jake and showing him our progress…Hopefully with one less balance.David and Becky
