Vanessa is a Bilingual Lending Advisor here at Summit and a first-time Project Money coach with years of financial experience going back to studying Fashion Business in college. She’s excited to be coaching someone so closely for months to be able to make a significant impact on their habits.Q: What’s the biggest thing that Project Money does for people?Project Money changes their relationship with money; it changes the core of their habits. If they allow themselves to do it and learn from us, it can change their lifetime financial journey.Q: Any overall tips for Heather’s journey?Big changes don’t happen overnight; be kind to yourself and be patient about your journey. It will take some time to harvest the seeds we are planting now, and that is what will make it even more delightful to experience.Q: To you, what’s the one financial “must?”Treat saving as a priority – like a regular payment that you must do every month and never stop. Even if sometimes you have to restart it or lower the amount, just never stop paying yourself.Q: What’s something you wish you could tell everyone about finances?Do not fear it, face it. Some people fear even talking about finances, but you won’t know if you don’t check. Seek professional help if needed, but do not ever neglect it.Q: What do you love most about what you do at Summit?I love the credit union movement and how I can help different communities with their financial goals. Every meeting I have with my members, I help them to make better financial choices through financial education. I love seeing the results from what they learned!Q: Fun fact about you? Before joining Summit Credit Union, I ran my own business in Brazil and worked as a translator and interpreter specializing in marketing research. I’m trilingual and deeply passionate about languages, culture and meaningful communication.
