October brings a fresh, exciting chapter for Britt as she embarks on a new job opportunity. Starting mid-month, Britt will transition back to an onsite work environment, a significant shift from the remote setup we have grown accustomed to. While this change brings associated costs, such as commuting and perhaps wardrobe updates, the overall impact on the family is overwhelmingly positive. The decision to return onsite was not made lightly. We chatted with our family and close mentors to weigh the pros and cons, ultimately concluding that the benefits far outweigh the inconveniences. The new role promises not only professional growth and opportunities but also a chance for Britt to engage more directly with colleagues, fostering collaboration and creativity that can sometimes be challenging to achieve remotely. Moreover, this move is expected to have a ripple effect on the family. The structure and routine that come with an onsite job can provide a stable rhythm, which is particularly beneficial for the family's overall well-being. The daily commute, though initially daunting, offers Britt valuable moments of reflection and transition between work and home life, helping maintain a healthy work-life balance. We should note that Matt is still on second shift and still has some future layoffs coming. We are able to alter Oliver's daycare schedule keeping the cost similar and not extending his time away from home. Financially, while there are upfront costs associated with returning to onsite work, the new job brings with it improved benefits and growth potential, which will undoubtedly contribute to the family's financial stability in the long run. Additionally, the renewed sense of purpose and fulfillment that Britt experiences in her professional life directly enhances the emotional and mental health of the entire family. In conclusion, Britt's new job opportunity starting in mid-October marks a significant and positive change for both her career and family life. The return to an onsite work environment, despite its costs, promises to bring about a wealth of benefits that will resonate far beyond the office walls. Here’s to embracing new beginnings and the wonderful opportunities they bring!
