Adulting: Love It Or Hate It, We Must Do It

July 19, 2023 Today is Prime Day, and Amazon isn’t the only place with great deals. There are major sales at every department store, and I am looking for some new furniture for the camper. I am the kind of person that almost always looks for something used. In fact, most recently, I got my new-to-me couches from my sister. Let’s be honest, this plush recliner couch is way better than my Ikea couch I’m getting rid of.  There’s absolutely nothing wrong with my Ikea couch. It has served me well over the years. It was the first thing I bought when I was going through my divorce when I was sick of using my yard chairs and inflatable air mattress after a long day at work. The young lady I am selling it to is also starting over in life, so it seems fitting to part ways under similar circumstances. I hope that it serves her well for the duration of its life.Today, I got the itch to buy something new. I am super nervous in making a big purchase right now while I’m working hard to get my finances in order.  I also don’t want to have the awkward conversation with my coach on why I bought the patio furniture, and I had to make a large purchase at Menards last weekend to make some much needed repairs on the camper. Keeping that in mind, I made the very adult decision to save my money and wait to find something I really like for the camper.  Adulting sucks sometimes, but I need to make sure I stay on track with my spending, and that means more to me than anything right now. Project Money and working with my coach, Takarra, has had such a positive influence on me. I am really thinking about if I’m buying something I want or something I need. I am grateful for that.
