In the wise words of Jonathan Van Ness, when I found out I was chosen for Project Money this year all I could think was, can you believe?! I barely could when I found out and now it’s time to start my journey.Right now, I feel like I’m aware of financial advice and what I *should* be doing, it’s just figuring out how to execute those tips and tricks in a productive way that fits into my lifestyle. As someone who works a lot (and is single with no kids other than my fur babies), I easily fall into expenses of convenience or the “treat yoself” mentality – takeout after a long day instead of cooking, paying someone to do yard work because I hate doing it, heading out for a long weekend trip because I think I deserve it. Then I end up looking at my bank account at the end of the month and thinking “Whoops, I’ll try again next month!” and inevitably fall into the same cycle the coming month.I’ve followed along with Project Money for the last few years and I love reading the stories of everyone who’s participated. Their growth and helpful advice woven into their busy lives were inspiring to see and actually felt doable compared to the financial whirlwind that I felt like I normally encountered when looking for financial help. After a kickoff meeting with my coach, Jessica, I can’t wait to get started and to share what I learn with all of you. I hope I can be just as helpful and inspiring to someone else as previous participants have been to me. Let’s begin!
