It’s All A Blur

November 30, 2022 Happy (belated) Thanksgiving! This year didn’t really feel like anything special since my goal was to keep it low key. I was able to make a nice dinner for my dad and I at home for just the two of us. I’m extremely grateful that he was willing to come to me this year, saving me the time, energy, and money of travel. The rest of the weekend I spent – you guessed it – working. Holidays are the busiest time of the year for the pet industry so while I had a holiday day off from my full-time job, I took advantage of that by working full-time hours over the long weekend at my part time job grooming and was fully booked for pet sitting. My goal was twofold, earn extra cash to pay down some debt by the end of the program and also be too busy to do any shopping and therefore avoid any impulse purchases. I was half successful. To avoid any type of browsing and impulse purchases, I made a list of every present I had to buy. It was fairly simple since I don’t buy presents for that many people. I had a few browser tabs open with everything I needed in each cart and purchased them first thing Friday morning. Boom, holiday shopping done. Unfortunately, I didn’t get away without some type of impulse purchase this year which I was expecting. I was casually browsing Amazon and got myself a heated blanket and later, while looking for a gift for someone else, picked up a few more things I probably didn’t need at Marshall’s. It could have been worse so I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. And as someone who’s constantly freezing, I’m super excited to try out my new blanket!Did you have any strategies for Black Friday shopping?
