November 23, 2022 One of the things, or problems, I knew about myself coming into Project Money was that I had a loose budget but I never let that stop me from doing the things I wanted to do. Budget might not even be the accurate term, maybe more of a tracking sheet every month just to see where my money was going and then trying to remember where I should trim it down the next month. This had never been an issue for me except for the fact that I knew it was a really bad habit to be in.I still sort of fall into this habit but I’m a little more aware of it now through the help of Summit’s Climbr app and getting more into the habit of thinking if I *really* need something. I was, however, caught off guard by Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour tickets going on sale this week. My friends and I had been planning for this (and jokingly saying we’d sell a kidney) but time is such an illusion for me it snuck up on me much quicker than I anticipated. As many might have heard, Ticketmaster was down and glitching and it was an all-out “Hunger Games” war to get tickets. I waited five hours and my friend waited closer to seven just to get past the queue. But good things come to those who wait and we were lucky enough to secure great tickets and within the loose budget we had set for ourselves. This didn’t exactly fit into this month’s budget but based on great advice from my financial coach earlier this year, I have a fun fund of savings that I can pull from. It’s awesome to see things that I’ve put into action earlier in the year coming back around to help me out now!
