Fishing for Success

August 14, 2024 This past weekend, our family planned our first fishing trip. For those of us with limited or no fishing experience, it’s easy to get overwhelmed when choosing rods, bait, bobbers and other equipment. On this outing, we shopped smarter! Instead of our usual routine of over-preparing and overspending, everything we bought was a well-thought-out decision, and we compared purchases to every other option in the store. We even prepped for lunch on the way so there wouldn’t be any growling bellies (especially if nothing was caught on the lake, haha).Overall, the trip was a success, and everybody caught some fish. The kids really enjoyed themselves and are excited for the next fishing outing, and most importantly, we had good quality family time without breaking the bank. Creating core family memories is crucial for us, and we’re glad that we’re learning to plan better while still enjoying quality time together.
