Getting Closer to My Goals

October 24, 2024 Achieving my financial security isn’t about having a specific number in my bank account; it’s about being in a place where I no longer need to worry about money. Where I can comfortably cover my needs and allow for future planning. For me, being financially secure means having control over my money. Life is unpredictable, so it is important to manage my budget and income and identify opportunities to face unexpected expenses. I started with small consistent steps that strengthened my financial situation, and now I can celebrate a few milestones in my journey:
  1. My safety net. Having an emergency funds account and using extra income to save more money alleviates my stress and allows me to focus my energy on other financial goals.
  2. Sufficient income. I don’t have to rely on credit cards or loans when finding other ways to earn money to meet my needs.
  3. Debt freedom. The money I am not using for paying interest rates or monthly minimum payments is going towards saving and investing.
  4. Enjoying life. By having different accounts, each with a particular purpose, I can use wisely my money for travel, leisure or dining out, without using credit cards or feeling guilty.
Everybody’s picture of financial security is different. The important thing is that I am making it work for me, based on my necessities and priorities in my life. By being part of Project Money, I continue learning about money and strengthening my financial future.
