The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Managing My Money in 2024

November 20, 2024 Reflecting on my financial journey since the beginning of the year, I realize it was full of surprises, challenges and learning experiences about finances and my relationship with money. The most challenging experiences were facing my debt and changing my money management habits. It is hard to see the naked picture of your finances and be willing to talk about it, and even more so, to take action and find opportunities to increase your income.Another difficult task is saving money while balancing your expenses and lifestyle. Changing my money management habits was tedious, but once I was able to talk about my financial situation from a different perspective, I started to be more receptive. I saw more opportunities to embrace the financial coach's advice and utilize the Project Money tools to achieve my financial goals. Once I started seeing the progress on how my debt was decreasing and my savings increasing, my motivation started gaining momentum. The best part of this financial journey is that I learned to manage my finances based on my personal goals and lifestyle. Now I can create, adjust and balance my budgets, implement strategies to manage my money in a way that works for me, utilize my bank accounts to benefit my budget and my savings, take control of my short- and long-term financial goals, and plan for a better financial future.Overall, the outcome is very positive for me. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a participant in Project Money and a client of Summit Credit Union. With their support and financial tools, I will be able to continue improving my financial strategies and achieve financial freedom.
