Getting Into The Groove

August 2, 2023 It’s been several weeks since I started Project Money. I feel like I’m finally getting into the swing of things. As I packed my lunch this morning, I was happy to see that my fridge was finally starting to clear out. I think that finally means I am buying the right amount of food to get me through the week and therefore, budgeting appropriately. I am super happy that I have gotten to the point of this – that I am no longer throwing as much food out. Throwing food away almost feels like throwing money directly into the trash. Who thought that meal prepping would lead to being more environmentally friendly!  I fell away from doing a real food prep sometime last year. My brain and heart weren’t in it. I was in a funk. Last year was super challenging on a very personal level, and I lost a bit of who I was for a while.  Getting the email from Amy at Summit Credit Union saying they wanted to interview me for Project Money was what I needed to jump start my return to who I am. I started meal prepping, watching my finances closely and making better decisions health wise. I even started walking Willow more and working out again. In addition to paying down debt and saving money, I have lost several pounds! It has been a slow-going process, but much like paying off debt, slow and steady wins the race. It feels good to get out of my funk and get back into the groove of living and enjoying life again. I am so looking forward to how things will look by February.
