Calculate Insurance Needs
I have always been open to myself about my financial state. Two years ago, I had concrete plans, and everything was going perfectly. I finally achieved financial freedom and started living and enjoying life without worrying about my bills or savings. But life happens, and recent personal and professional life-changing events made me see that I was juggling my money with uncertainty. My plans changed, and suddenly, I lost my financial security, so I told myself… We need to start over!I know how we feel when thinking about our financial situation. We feel scared, stressed, anxious, or guilty. Most of us don’t want to think about it, talk about it, analyze our spending habits, prepare a budget, or even acknowledge we need help understanding our financial situation.I started looking closely at my budget and discovered it wasn’t financially sustainable. Now, I can painfully see that the money I was bringing in wasn’t enough to cover my financial obligations and have a life. I made changes, like canceling subscriptions, reducing bills, and understanding the interest rates on credit cards and loans, among other ideas. I took some money out of my retirement savings, to reduce some debt, because I noticed the payments and interest rates alone were putting me in more debt every month. I needed some breathing room in my budget. I was desperately finding different ways to get back on track. That is why I am so fortunate to participate in the Summit Credit Union Project Money programthis year. The first meeting with my financial coach gave me ideas, great advice, tools, andresources, to build a plan together to help me get back on the path of economic freedom. With this plan, I can envision my money working for me, I can see my money making me happy. We all deserve to know how to manage our money and use it to make our dreams come true. After all, we are making money to help us live a happy life!
