the end is near!
Jaclyn and Kiara
We have come into the final week of our two-week notice at our part time jobs! Some people think we are crazy to be giving up the extra income while others think that we are crazy to have worked so many hours for so long. We are just excited to be able to start living a normal life. Well, as normal as you can get while still working the late shift and being a night owl. We will miss our co-workers and the job wasn't too bad, but sometimes you reach that point in life where you need to be able to just take time for yourself and see that there is more to life than money.

winding down or gearing up?
Angie and Cris
Well, we are entering the final stretch of this life experience called Project Money. It was another busy weekend at the Nelson home.  Cris worked on Saturday, Angie got the house cleaned up and ship shape, Carly went to the movies with her cousin, and Blake had a swim meet on Sunday.

tidying beyond the finances

Hello Week 26 of Project Money!  With the recent loss of my mom, I have been reflecting on lots of things.  Growing up, Mom didn’t have a lot of money.  She came from a large family and they were fairly poor, so when I was growing up, Mom was very frugal with her money.  If she got a new pair of socks or a new pair of mittens, she would put them in a cedar chest at the foot of her bed.  This is where she would put the brand new dish towels that could not be used or the bath towels that she was saving for another day.  As a young parent, I found myself employing

Certainly have the honeymoon immediately after the wedding! With our October nuptials, this limits opportunities for toes-in-the-sand classic romantic sunsets on sandy beaches sort of thing, but we don’t mind!

Hello all and welcome back to the blogosphere! Hope that the holiday season is treating you well. As everyone that has been keeping up with us knows, together we work about 120-140 hours a week combined. That’s about 60 to 70 hours a week a piece and we have been doing this for about a year and three months now. How we have kept it going is beyond us.

life is like a boomerang; what you give, you get
Angie and Cris
Did you get a boomerang? What is your definition of a boomerang?  The typical thrown tool/ toy is designed to spin about an axis perpendicular to the direction of its flight.  It comes from ancient Australia, and is potentially up to 50,000 years old.  Today, these boomerangs are mostly used for recreation; as for the history of the boomerang, they were used mainly for hunting.  I am not actually talking about the typical thrown tool.  Summit Credit Union offers a CASH boomerang, which we have been fortunate enough to receive.
