This week, we took a few days to go on a trip together! We called it a ‘Midwest tour’ and started out in Wisconsin Dells. The highlight of this stop was taking a ride with the WI Dells Boat Tours and taking in all the natural scenery on a beautiful fall day. We also liked strolling around downtown and had a tasty lunch at a local bar and grill. A favorite part of our travels was taking in the local sights and getting a feel for each place. We headed to La Crosse next and enjoyed looking out for miles from a beautiful spot named Grandad's Bluff. Looking out from this height gave us a new perspective at how wide the world actually is! We worked our way back down the state by the way of the Great River Road which follows the Mississippi River. Travis enjoyed stopping at the locks and dams, and we were able to see a barge work its way through the lock. Now I understand the purpose of these amazing structures.Throughout the trip, we searched for things to do, places to eat and places to stay as we went along, which helped us find the best deals available. We enjoyed the search and working together to find things to do that were within our budget! Before Project Money, we would have spent more money and done more commercialized activities. Being mindful of our budget helped us to be creative in our choices and kept the trip low key and relaxing. It is possible to get away and enjoy the sights and local flavors of surrounding communities while being mindful of finances. Have a good week!~K&T
