Fall Is In The Air!

September 27, 2023 This time of year always has me feeling nostalgic for days gone by. Today, I pulled out some old storage boxes that hadn’t been gone through for at least 10 years and took a trip down memory lane. Our daughter has gone off to college this year which has brought all kinds of emotions. When I pulled out pictures, report cards and art projects from her elementary years, we all had some laughs! I was also so happy to find my college diploma which I thought had been lost to history. I finally had to pull myself away from the boxes when Travis called to remind me to write this blog. This experience of reflecting on the past has again made us realize just how far we’ve come.Travis and I celebrated our wedding anniversary this weekend and could not have known on the day that we said our vows just what was in store for us. Through many ups and downs, we have managed to build a life together and we are thankful that we were able to persevere even when times were tough.  Some of those tough times included financial situations that we could not see a way out of at the time. We have already proved to ourselves that we are able to get through life’s problems, big and small. That’s why even though we have had some financial setbacks since beginning Project Money, we know that we will make it to the end in better shape than when we started. Yesterday, Travis was throwing out some ideas out including dreams for the future that I could not visualize, and I said, “How is this going to happen? It is likely not a possibility for us.” He wisely reminded me that I should stop shooting down ideas before giving them a chance. I agreed with him because we have already proved that anything is possible for us if we apply hard work and the knowledge of experts to the situation. Why should we put limits on our future? Travis’s idea is something that we have talked about throughout our marriage, and it would mean so much for it to become a reality. So, this week, we are going to declare to our Project Money coach, and to each other, our “extraordinary goal.” We don’t know the path to success yet, but each of us is going to put one foot forward in the direction of the goal to plant the seed and watch it grow.Happy fall!
