Grants of $2,500 to $10,000 help ease financial challenges during difficult circumstances.MADISON, Wis. – Summit Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative, is proud to announce a new partnership with TriUnity Foundation, a national nonprofit created by and for credit unions that provides financial assistance to credit union members facing terminal or life-threatening illness.A terminal or life-threatening diagnosis often brings unexpected expenses and difficult financial decisions at a time when individuals and families should be focused on care, comfort and time together. Grants from TriUnity Foundation help ease those challenges, providing meaningful support when it matters most."At Summit, we believe financial well-being means more than managing money. It's about helping people navigate challenging moments with dignity and less stress," said Kim Sponem, CEO and President of Summit Credit Union. "We're proud to join TriUnity Foundation, extending the credit union philosophy of people helping people."TriUnity Foundation was founded on the belief that no one should face life's hardest chapter alone. Through partnerships with credit unions and industry organizations nationwide, the foundation provides grants to members experiencing extraordinary circumstances."Credit unions were created because people needed a better way to navigate financial hardship," said LeAnn Case, Chair of TriUnity Foundation. "A terminal illness creates one of the greatest challenges a family can face. This work isn't separate from the credit union mission. It is one of the clearest expressions of why credit unions exist."Applications are now being accepted through September 15, 2026, with grants of $2,500 or $10,000 available to Summit Credit Union members. Applications are reviewed confidentially by an independent advisory committee. Grant funds may be used to help individuals and families navigate expenses related to a terminal or life-threatening diagnosis. Grant cycles are offered twice a year. For more information or to access the grant application, visit
