Just when I start feeling like I’m getting ahead, an expensive month comes along! I’m still on track to pay off my credit card debt by the holidays, which I’m really proud of. But when extra expenses come up, it’s hard to make the impact on my savings that I’d like to.I finally feel like I have a handle on things, and then there’s something else to pay for. Between surprise home expenses and my son joining the black belt team, there’s just more to fit into the budget. Even knowing I’m making progress, it can feel like a lot to have to adjust where I hoped that money would go.I’m trying to keep my eye on the prize while also giving myself some grace. An expensive month doesn’t mean I’ve stopped making progress. My credit card payoff goal is still on track! I can’t add as much to savings as I wanted, but that doesn’t erase everything I’ve already done.I’m learning how to shuffle things around and restructure my plan to accommodate what’s happening in my life while still making progress. That’s real life – especially when you’re raising a child and managing a household on your own. This month may look different than I hoped, but I’m still moving toward my goals!
